About the position

NorthPointe Woods, a Cardinal Senior Living community in Battle Creek, Michigan, is seeking a Director of Wellness to lead resident care and clinical operations. The role has ownership of resident assessments and individualized care planning, changes in condition, medication management, clinical documentation, admissions and transitions, infection prevention, resident safety, regulatory readiness, and clinical compliance. The Director of Wellness also oversees clinical staffing, onboarding, training, and competency; develops and holds nurses, Med Techs, and care staff accountable; and coordinates with residents, families, physicians, pharmacies, home health, hospice, and other providers.

The Director of Wellness is expected to identify and address clinical or process gaps, understand why problems occur, and improve systems to reduce recurrence. The role involves coaching through observation, documentation, clinical judgment, and results, while building a capable team that consistently meets clinical standards. The Director partners with the Executive Director and community leadership on staffing and labor, resident retention, family experience, admissions and occupancy, risk and compliance, employee performance, and overall community execution. They bring clinical facts, sound judgment, and clear recommendations to support community operations.

The position is for a clinical leader with strong judgment, organization, follow-through, and high standards who can work independently, make decisions within their scope, and escalate appropriately. The mission is to provide dignity, safety, and care to elderly residents, with an emphasis on consistent clinical execution and trusted resident care.
