
Job Summary
The Creative Project Manager is an individual contributor within the Brand Creative Group responsible for guiding creative projects from discovery through delivery.
This role creates clarity and momentum by translating objectives into actionable project plans, coordinating stakeholders and creative teams, managing timelines and approvals, and identifying risks before they affect delivery. The Creative Project Manager helps ensure work moves efficiently through the creative process while maintaining alignment with project objectives, priorities and expectations.
Working closely with creative, brand, marketing and operational partners, this role creates the structure that allows creative teams to focus on solving problems and producing meaningful work. The Creative Project Manager leads through organization, communication, collaboration and influence rather than formal authority.
Essential Functions
- Lead assigned creative projects from discovery and planning through creative development, delivery and closeout.
- Translate project objectives into actionable creative project plans, including scope, deliverables, milestones, timelines, dependencies, stakeholders and approval requirements.
- Lead discovery conversations and project kickoffs to establish shared understanding of objectives, audiences, deliverables, responsibilities, timelines and measures of success.
- Develop and maintain creative briefs, project schedules and other documentation that provide teams and stakeholders with clear direction.
- Coordinate day-to-day project activity across designers, writers, production partners, marketing teams and other contributors.
- Facilitate project status meetings, creative reviews and approval cycles while ensuring decisions, feedback and next steps are clearly documented.
- Consolidate stakeholder feedback into clear, actionable direction before returning work to creative teams.
- Monitor project scope, timelines, dependencies and risks; identify potential issues early and recommend appropriate next steps.
- Manage approved scope changes by documenting impacts to timing, resources and deliverables and communicating those impacts to project partners.
- Partner with traffic and creative operations to communicate resource needs, scheduling considerations and changes that may affect team capacity.
- Maintain proactive and transparent communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate agency, vendor or other external partner activity when required as part of assigned projects.
- Protect creative focus by reducing ambiguity, organizing feedback and ensuring creative team members have the information and decisions needed to move work forward.
- Lead project closeout and capture lessons learned that can improve future projects, workflows and stakeholder experiences.
- Contribute to consistent project management practices, tools and workflows across the Brand Creative Group.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent In Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field
- 2 years of relevant experience in marketing or related role
Preferred
- Project management experience supporting creative, marketing, communications, brand or integrated campaign work.
- Experience coordinating projects in an in-house creative team, agency, marketing organization or similarly collaborative environment.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing timelines, stakeholders, deliverables and changing priorities.
- Experience facilitating project meetings, creative reviews and stakeholder approval processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify project risks, manage scope and dependencies, and communicate changes proactively.
- Experience partnering with designers, writers or other creative professionals and an understanding of creative development, review and production workflows.
- Experience coordinating vendors, agencies or other external partners is beneficial.
- Familiarity with project or work management platforms; experience with creative workflow or marketing operations systems is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Agile, hybrid or other adaptive project management approaches and an interest in applying right-sized processes to creative work.
- Project management certification or formal project management training
- Experience in healthcare, health insurance or another complex or highly regulated environment
