Overview

In this role you will shape the evolution of Gordon Food Service's supply chain from ideation to detailed design. You'll engineer modular and end-to-end solutions that boost network efficiency, capacity, and service levels. You will act as a technology thought leader, liaising with vendors and translating operations challenges into data-driven projects. This is a hands-on position that blends modeling, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver tangible business value.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end solution development from ideation to detailed design
  • Engage with vendors for feasibility studies, pilots, and proof-of-concept projects
  • Build business cases with ROI and TCO analyses for network initiatives
  • Provide technical leadership and define project scopes across cross-functional teams
  • Model and validate designs using data analytics, simulation, and network modeling
  • Communicate complex solutions to stakeholders and represent GFS in vendor/tech communities
  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineering to leverage Engineered Labor Standards for baselining and KPI measurement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Key requirements
  • Bachelor in Industrial Engineering (or related field)
  • 5+ years in solutions design, supply chain engineering, or logistics strategy
  • Experience designing and implementing logistics projects
  • Vendor management experience on solution evaluation, feasibility studies, or pilots
  • End-to-end supply chain network design experience preferred
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar tools
  • Experience with discrete event simulation software (e.g., FlexSim) and OR modeling tools
  • Knowledge of WMS, WES, and TMS/YMS and their integrations
  • Advanced data analysis skills (SQL, Alteryx, BI-Query)
  • Lean Six Sigma or CI experience preferred
  • Strong vendor relationship management and cross-functional influencing skills
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain principles, including inventory, manufacturing logistics, and transportation
  • Experience mining and analyzing large datasets (SQL/BigQuery/Alteryx)
