
Senior Finance Analyst - Commercial Finance
Our client is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to support quoting, pricing, forecasting, cost analysis, and profitability across new and existing business.
This role will partner closely with Finance, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to evaluate quote economics, understand manufacturing cost drivers, protect margins, and improve pricing decisions.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial analysis, commercial finance, FP&A, pricing, quoting, or manufacturing finance and can turn complex financial and operational data into actionable business recommendations.

What You'll Do
- Evaluate customer quotes for profitability, margin impact, financial risk, and overall business value.
- Analyze manufacturing cost assumptions including materials, labor, overhead, scrap, tooling, freight, capital, volume, and program timing.
- Identify margin gaps, costing inconsistencies, and financial risks before pricing is finalized.
- Develop pricing, costing, and profitability scenarios for new and existing business.
- Provide recommendations based on cost structure, target margins, customer requirements, and business objectives.
- Compare quoted assumptions against actual financial and operational performance.
- Analyze customer, product, and program profitability.
- Evaluate the financial impact of material, labor, freight, tooling, and other cost changes.
- Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost recovery, and improved profitability.
- Support commercial forecasting, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgeting.
- Analyze awarded business, pricing assumptions, expected launches, and other inputs impacting financial forecasts.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Tooling, and Customer Service to understand cost drivers and validate assumptions.
- Analyze complex financial and operational data sets and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Communicate financial findings to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, commercial finance, FP&A, pricing, quoting, cost analysis, manufacturing finance, or a related area.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with financial modeling, pivot tables, lookup functions, scenario analysis, and large data sets.
- Strong financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to identify trends, validate assumptions, and maintain data accuracy.
- Ability to translate financial data into practical business recommendations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Quoting and pricing analysis experience.
- Product costing or manufacturing cost analysis.
- Margin and profitability analysis.
- Customer or program profitability analysis.
- Commercial finance or manufacturing finance experience.
- Understanding of manufacturing cost structures, including materials, labor, overhead, tooling, scrap, and freight.
- Forecasting, budgeting, and FP&A experience.
- Experience supporting new business quotes or product/program launches.
Relevant Backgrounds
Candidates may currently hold titles such as Commercial Finance Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, Pricing Analyst, Manufacturing Financial Analyst, Cost Analyst, Profitability Analyst, FP&A Analyst, or Cost & Profitability Analyst.
