Legends Sports & Games — Grand Rapids, Michigan

Compensation: $85,000+ annually

Schedule: Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday, approximately 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Location: Primarily in-person in Grand Rapids, with possible limited hybrid flexibility over time

Legends Sports & Games is looking for a curious, self-directed problem solver to help grow our ecommerce business and improve the systems behind it.

This is more than a traditional ecommerce or digital marketing role.

We want someone who looks at a website and asks how it could convert better, sees a repetitive process and wonders if it can be automated, or notices a business opportunity that nobody has assigned to them yet—and takes the initiative to explore it.

Your primary focus will be online growth, but the right person will have the opportunity to make an impact throughout the company.

What You'll Do

• Improve our Shopify website, merchandising, product discovery and conversion
• Develop and execute email marketing and customer retention strategies
• Build and improve SEO efforts
• Analyze ecommerce performance and turn data into action
• Identify new online revenue and marketplace opportunities
• Develop and test promotions and growth experiments
• Improve reporting, dashboards and business visibility
• Identify repetitive processes that can be automated
• Evaluate new software, AI tools and technology
• Help improve workflows involving ecommerce, inventory, pricing and purchasing
• Coordinate projects with developers, vendors and internal teams
• Help solve problems that cross multiple departments

You do not need to personally program every solution.

You do need to be able to identify the problem, investigate options, work with the right people and help get projects across the finish line.

Experience We'd Like to See

Practical experience in several of the following

• Ecommerce
• Shopify or a comparable platform
• Email marketing
• SEO
• Conversion optimization
• Analytics and reporting
• Spreadsheets and data analysis
• AI or automation tools
• Digital marketing
• Project management

Experience with retail, online marketplaces, APIs, automation platforms, paid advertising, or sports cards and collectibles is a plus, but not required.

Collectibles experience is helpful, but the way you think matters more.

AI & Automation

We believe AI and automation will significantly change how businesses operate.

We are looking for someone who is already comfortable with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Codex or similar platforms—or who is highly motivated to learn them.

We want someone who naturally asks

"Is there a better way to do this?"

and then uses the tools available to find out.

How the Role Can Grow

This position will begin with a strong focus on ecommerce growth.

As you learn the business and demonstrate good judgment, the role can expand into larger projects involving technology, automation, reporting, business systems and company-wide growth initiatives.

We are not looking for someone to walk in on Day One and tell every department how to operate.

We are looking for someone who can earn trust, work collaboratively, identify opportunities and help us continually build a better business.

Legends Sports & Games is a long-established Grand Rapids retailer serving sports-card, trading-card-game and collectibles customers both locally and nationwide.

Our business includes a large retail store, ecommerce operations, online marketplaces, gaming, events, card shows and the buying and selling of sports cards and collectibles.

If you want a narrow role where you do the same thing every day, this probably isn't it.
