Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate

Since 1918, Medler Electric Company has built a legacy of serving Michigan's electrical needs with integrity and excellence. We are currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Inside Sales/Customer Service Associate to join our Grand Rapids location.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in electrical distribution or related sales, strong product knowledge, and a commitment to outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Promptly answer incoming calls and assist customers with orders
• Greet and serve walk-in customers at the counter
• Sell electrical distributor products and services
• Provide accurate price and availability information
• Support Account Managers with day-to-day sales activities
• Prepare competitive quotes and follow up to secure orders
• Understand product applications and assist with selection
• Use product knowledge to suggest substitutions when needed
• Report stock shortages and support purchasing team as needed
• Participate in product training and skill development
• Expedite orders and ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain a clean, professional work environment
• Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and colleagues
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by Branch Manager

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of electrical products is required
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs frequently
• Basic computer skills
• Must pass a drug test and background check
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education
