3rd Shift Restaurant Manager - Grand Coney GR

The Grand Coney, located in Grand Rapids at 809 Michigan Street, is seeking a motivated 3rd shift assistant manager candidates for current needs and future growth.

As an assistant to the General Manager, you will help with the overall administration of the restaurant including, but not limited to: product ordering, interviewing, orientations, training, scheduling, maintaining records, product ordering, inventory, social media interactions, etc…

Throughout the shift, you will generally oversee a team of 6-12 employees, consisting of both front of house and kitchen staff. Your duties will be to:

• Conduct great pre-shift meetings
• Perform thorough walk-throughs and making corrections where needed.
• Utilize restaurant tools and checklists to allow for top notch, consistent operations.
• Maintain a presence during the shift, walking the floor and attending to areas of need, ensuring great service and great food.
• Greeting guests during periods without a host/hostess
• Work, at times, in task oriented positions including expediting and in the kitchen.
• Assisting kitchen team where and when needed, including running portions, or all, of your shift from the back of the house if necessary.
• Perform basic administrative duties including cash control and record keeping

This position is a salaried position based on a 50 hour schedule and includes 2 weeks paid vacation in your first year, additional personal time off/sick days as well as health care benefits

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years management experience in the hospitality/food service industry with the confidence, potential and desire to become a future Restaurant General Manager preferred.
• Excellent training and teaching abilities
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• At least 6 months experience in back of house operations is preferred, but a willingness to learn and perform these duties is required.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
• Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time
